HOW TO GET A LIBRARY CARD

If you are 18 or older, bring a picture ID plus a piece of mail less than 30 days old with your current address. If you are under 18, bring a parent or legal guardian along with that person's picture ID and proof of address. The responsible party must first have a valid library card free of fines, overdue materials and lost or damaged items.

You are responsible for all the materials checked out on your card.

If you should lose your card, let the library know right away so that no one else can use it. There is a $2.00 replacement fee for lost cards. Also, if you change your name or address, it is important that you notify the library so that your records can be updated.

When you receive your card you may use it to borrow from any branch in the Blue Ridge Regional Library System. The following types of items are available for check out:

  • Books (regular print and large print)
  • Compact discs
  • Books-on-tape
  • DVD's
  • Videos
  • Toys (Martinsville and Bassett branches only)
  • Magazines
